Event description: 

Meet at the medical library’ main entrance for a guided tour of the Cushing Center, a permanent medical historical exhibition created from the personal papers and collections of Harvey Cushing, known as the father of modern neurosurgery and an 1891 Yale graduate. This extensive installation includes shelves of glass jars containing century-old brain specimens that Cushing used in his research as well as historical books and manuscripts, reproductions of Cushing’s artwork, and explanatory videos.

Tours are offered on Thursdays (2 pm), Fridays (11 am and 2 pm), and Saturdays (11 am and 3 pm). The tours are free and open to the public. Scheduled tours may be canceled occasionally; if you are coming from a distance, check the Yale Medical School calendar or call the library in advance at 203-785-5352.
